Jurassic Park, but with golf
A colossal alligator was filmed taking an afternoon stroll across a Buffalo Creek Golf Course course in Palmetto, Florida, while panicked golf players watched and filmed from a cautious distance.
Charles Helms was one of the golfers who spotted the living dinosaur at the course while he was with a friend. Unsurprisingly, they both took out their phones and started filming.
Helms guessed that the alligator was 15 feet long, which would make it just 9 inches shorter than the longest alligator ever recorded.
“I was stunned and silent,” Helms told ABC Action News. “I didn’t know if we were being punked or something. It was just laying down, resting, when it got up and started moving towards the big lake.”
This isn’t the first time the monster has been seen on the course. It has reportedly been strolling across the greens for years.
“He doesn’t bother anybody and they don’t bother him, he’s like a mascot for the course,” course employee Wendy Schofield told 3 News.
